RAIPUR, India (Reuters) – At least twenty people were killed & on fifty fear attentive when a chimney below construction at a authority plant in middle India misshapen, The power plant belongs to Bharat Aluminium Company (Balco), in which Satellite Industries (India), element of the removal group Vedanta, holds 51 %.
About 100 employees & engineers were working on the chimney at Balco Nagar, some hours’ make from the Chhattisgarh state capital, Raipur.
“It’s a huge accident,” Ratanlal Dangi, area administrator of police, told Reuters by phone.
“We have recovered 20 bodies so remote. Still a lot of more are intent under the distorted chimney’s debris. huge rescue & relief operations are below way.”
The chimney, which misshapen after deep rain & lightning, had arrived at 100 m (330 feet) & was planned to be 275 m high, police said.
Balco spokesperson B.K. Srivastava said: “There is an industrial accident & some people are wounded.”
Raman Singh, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, prearranged a legal inquiry, according to a report by the state government.
