Karwa Chauth
Karwa Chauth is a customary Hindu & Barelvi festival of married ladies, & is celebrated in India (Hindustan) & some parts of Pakistan.
Married ladies fast one of full day without water or food for the good health & long life of their husbands. The rite means great love & attachment to the husband, as proofed by the wife’s motivation to undergo for his well being.
Karwa Chauth Puja is celebrated on the chaturthi tithi following the full Moon in the month of kartik (October-November) in the Hindu datebook. According to the spiritual scriptures like Nirnay sindhu, Dharma sindhu, & any other shastra that govern system of when to watch festival says, “Karwa Chauth to be experiential at moonrise & poorvaviddha, greatest if its tritiya viddha. If observable during both time take the 1st one, if not observable on both time then take the 2nd one”.
Karwa means earth pot & chauth means 4th night following the full moon. It has large social & cultural meaning & is mostly practiced in all India.
Married ladies start their fast at nighttime just later than the look of the moon, within spectacle of their husbands. They then stay until the after that night’s moon to start the fast break rituals, without intense any drink or wood and ready every woman Karwa Chauth Vart Katha. In the evening ladies dress in their best clothing, & jewellery & henna. On finding the moon, they look &offer request & worship to it, & then accept their 1st bite of water & food from their husbands. after that, ladies consume their unique meal ready for the occasion.
