Karwa Chauth

Karwa Chauth is a customary Hindu & Barelvi festival of married ladies, & is celebrated in India (Hindustan) & some parts of Pakistan.

Married ladies fast one of full day without water or food for the good health & long life of their husbands. The rite means great love & attachment to the husband, as proofed by the wife’s motivation to undergo for his well being.

Karwa Chauth Puja is celebrated on the chaturthi tithi following the full Moon in the month of kartik (October-November) in the Hindu datebook. According to the spiritual scriptures like Nirnay sindhu, Dharma sindhu, & any other shastra that govern system of when to watch festival says, “Karwa Chauth to be experiential at moonrise & poorvaviddha, greatest if its tritiya viddha. If observable during both time take the 1^st one, if not observable on both time then take the 2^nd one”.

Karwa means earth pot & chauth means 4^th night following the full moon. It has large social & cultural meaning & is mostly practiced in all India.

Married ladies start their fast at nighttime just later than the look of the moon, within spectacle of their husbands. They then stay until the after that night’s moon to start the fast break rituals, without intense any drink or wood and ready every woman Karwa Chauth Vart Katha. In the evening ladies dress in their best clothing, & jewellery & henna. On finding the moon, they look &offer request & worship to it, & then accept their 1^st bite of water & food from their husbands. after that, ladies consume their unique meal ready for the occasion.

Delhi: The busy existence and hectic schedules give us small time to meet our family myself and wish them on

celebrate the triumph of good over bad. On the same, a radio jockey says “I love Dussehra out of all the festivals.
It brings such positive vibes .I make a huge Ravana on my own and with my whole family and friends when I burn it,
I get overwhelmed. Since I don’t get much spare time to visit all my friends and families I send them a SMS or a
greeting through internet.” Not only is the festival celebrated by Hindus, even Muslim community enjoys the whole
experience by becoming a part of the celebrations. A Muslim candidate informs “I celebrate this festival with great
fervor. I enjoy Eid and soon after I get busy with the preparations
of Dussehra and Diwali. I enjoy both these festivals equally. I set the Ravana ablaze every
Dussehra. It gives me a proud feeling of being a true Indian before being a Muslim.’

Dusshera- The name of famous festival of Hinduism. In this day God Rama Win on Lankeshwar  king Ravan. Due to this day is called ‘Vijayadashmi’. In all over India people celebrate Dusshera in different ways.

Before the Dasera people celebrate Ramlila & worship Durga Pooja till 9 days. In Ramlila show the whole thing about God Ram & Ravan. On the Dasara day effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran  & Meghnat burnt in evening. Children curiously await the Rawan Dahan. People wish each other friends & relatives by SMS, E mail, Cards etc. In some houses people Celebrate ‘Dusshera Tika’. After 20 days of Dusshera is hindu’s most important festival ‘Diwali’ is celebrated.

A second story joint with this that Goddess Durga kill Mahishashur on that day. So in east India Bangali celebrate that day due to Maa Durga win on Devil Mahishashur. Both story show the win on badness of goodness.

It is a popular celebration celebrated by Hindus all over India, although with many names. It is too known as Vijayadashmi (’Vijay’ sense ‘victory’ & ‘Dashmi meaning ‘10^th day), as it is believed to it was on this day that Lord Rama destroyed the devil-king, Ravana & rescued his kidnaped wife – Sita.
